Lifting

A log of what you lifted, and nothing else. Type a lift and a weight, mark the reps, close the app.

iPhone

What it fights

Lifting apps that use the log — the only part anyone needs — as bait for a programme subscription, a macro tracker, a feed, or a notification telling you that you have not trained in three days. The data you produced about your own body becomes leverage over you. A log is a cheap thing to build and an expensive thing to be charged for. This one is the log, by itself.

Features

Reps that tell the truth

One tap marks a number green: you made that many. A second turns it red: that is the rep you failed on. "Did 8" and "failed at 8" are different sets.

Goals you set yourself

Three sets of eight, or whatever you choose. A day goes green when you meet it. No streaks, no badges, no "you missed a day".

Your log is a file you can hold

Save the whole log as one readable file, wherever you like. Restoring only ever adds; it never overwrites or deletes what is already there.

Privacy

Short version: Lifting collects nothing, and could not if it wanted to. The app contains no network code. This section is the long version and is the official privacy policy for the Lifting app.

What Lifting does

You enter exercises, weights and reps. Lifting stores them on your phone and shows them back to you as a log and two charts. That is the entire product.

What we collect

Nothing. Lifting has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry and no advertising. We do not know that you installed it, how often you open it, or anything you have logged.

Where your log is kept

In a database file inside the app's own storage on your phone. It is not sent to ez2bgood or to anyone else, because the app has no way to send anything: it makes no network requests of any kind.

Two things can copy your log off the phone, and both are yours to control:

  • Your phone's own backup. If you have iCloud Backup or a computer backup switched on, the system includes Lifting's data in it, as it does for most apps. That backup is made by Apple's software to your own account. ez2bgood has no access to it.
  • A backup file you save yourself. "Back up or restore" writes your whole log to a file in a location you pick through the system file picker. The app does not learn where you put it.

Lifting with someone

"Lift with someone" lets you put a planned session in your calendar or send it to a friend. Lifting does not send it. It hands the plan to the system's calendar editor or share sheet, and you finish and send it there, in that app, under that app's own privacy policy.

Lifting remembers the name of the place you typed, on your phone only, so you need not type it again. It does not keep the plan, and it stores nothing about the people you invite.

Permissions the app requests

None. Lifting does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, notifications, health data or calendar access. Adding a session to your calendar uses the system's own event editor, which runs outside the app; Lifting cannot read your calendar.

Network activity

None. The app contains no networking code, and this is checked automatically every time the app's code changes.

Children

Lifting collects nothing that identifies anyone, children included.

Third parties

None. Lifting includes no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, attribution, crash reporting or A/B testing.

Deleting your data

Delete any set in the app and it is removed from the database; deleting the last set on a day removes the day. Deleting the app deletes the database. There is nothing held anywhere else for us to delete.

Changes to this policy

If Lifting ever gains anything that sends data off your device, this page will be updated first.

Support

Something not working, or a question about your log? Email admin@ez2bgood.com. Because the app keeps no account and sends us nothing, we cannot see your data — if a problem is about a particular day, the "Show stored data" link under that day in History shows exactly what is stored, and you can copy it into your message.
